The Young and the Restless recap for January 25-29, 2021, features a youth in revolt, a few plans of action, and a county-wide ice storm that was just perfect for mistake-making and periods of self-reflection.
Between the non-stop bullying, her mother’s continued involvement in the life of her kidnapper, and both her parents constant hovering, Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) finally unloaded on her loved ones – and Phyllis (Michell Stafford).
Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) was able to negotiate a cease fire, but the young girl continued to shut down anytime her state of mind was questioned.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance (Donny Boaz) requested Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) company, and pleaded for the use of womb. To say that Mariah was shocked at the prospect of serving as a “gestational carrier” would be an understatement.
She took a few days to process the request…and to seek the advice of her girlfriend and her mother. Another chat with the perspective parents convinced Mariah to go whole hog and agree to the surrogacy plan…despite her worry that the implantation wouldn’t take and she’d wind up disappointing everyone involved.
Though Adam (Mark Grossman) initially fretted over the idea of giving up Sharon (Sharon Case) in order to care for an ailing Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), he eventually found a way to have his cake and eat too. He’d just hire his ex to counsel his current squeeze. Absolutely brilliant! And no amount of double blinks from Chelsea could sway him from his mission.
Luckily for Adam, Chelsea eventually came around to his way of thinking. After all, if Sharon could help her recover her strength, then Chelsea would be perfectly poised to throttle her love rival!
Summer (Hunter King) and Kyle (Michael Mealor) returned from their fishing expedition with much information about one Miss Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope). But at Phyllis’s urging, Summer decided to refrain from blowing up her rival’s spot. For now. She did, however, let Sally know – ever so subtly – that she had the absolute goods on her!
A sudden ice storm forced Devon (Bryton James) to shelter in place with a visiting Elena (Brytni Sarpy) – because no, that misdelivered package bearing Devon’s name could not wait for redelivery.
The exes took the opportune moment to discuss the end of their relationship, and Elena claimed that she hadn’t possessed feelings for Nate (Sean Dominic) prior to the night they spent together. She was just mad that Devon was taking to Amanda (Mishael Morgan) about his dead wife. Charming!
Devon appreciated Elena’s honesty…perhaps a little too much. Especially since they retired to the couch kissing…
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Billy (Jason Thompson) also took advantage of the snow day to rehash their failed marriage(s) and comment on their present. And no, Victoria is not jealous of Lily (Christel Khalil) thank you very much. Regardless of the evidence to the contrary. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
