The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, October 16, 2020, culminates The Great Necklace mystery with Jack finally getting his hands on his mother’s lost bauble, Traci talking parenting with Abby, and Ashley and Victor first locking horns, then coming to a consensus. Also, Michael goes grey. But not from all of the above.
The Young and the Restless Recap Highlights
Lauren (Tracey Bregman) calls Jack (Peter Bergman) to tell him she’s ordered her late father’s things and Dina’s (Marla Adams) necklace is among them. Jack says he’ll be right over. While they wait, Lauren compliments Michael (Christian J. LeBlanc) on finally deciding to let his hair go grey. He’s her silver fox.
Abby (Melissa Ordway) tells Traci (Beth Maitland) she and Chance (Donny Boaz) are talking about having children. Abby hopes to be a different sort of mother than Dina was. Jack calls to tell them the necklace has been found!
The family gathers and discusses how this necklace will bring comfort to Dina in what they are forced to accept will be her final days. Dina sees the necklace, and it prompts her to apologize to her children for abandoning them. And all the other stuff. Since she’s done it before, we’re not sure why the necklace makes a difference. She says she loves them all and dies very prettily. John is there to welcome her to heaven. Guess he forgives her, too.
Fathers and Children
Prior to the necklace reveal, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) runs into Victor (Eric Braeden) at the park. She warns him not to go after Billy (Jason Thompson) for the expose – he only told the truth. When Victor hears that Dina is nearing the end, he insists on going to say good-bye to her. How can anything happen in Genoa City without Victor’s dispensation?
The conversation turns to all the horrible things Adam (Mark Grossman) has done, not just to Ashley (she was the person he handed a kidnapped Faith off to, telling Ashley it was her own child), but to Victor. Victor insists he will never give up on his son. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
