No one can say that Victoria didn’t work her way up the corporate ladder on The Young and the Restless. First, when she was born, Victor (Eric Braeden) didn’t even know he was her biological father! Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) claimed it was her then-husband, Kevin.
So she had that obstacle to overcome. Then, she went from angelic, blonde, blue-eyed preschooler to brown-haired, brown-eyed teen overnight. That’s some serious whiplash.
Then there was the early marriage, the frigidity, the naked centerfold, the many, many marriages, almost dying several times. And, all that time, she was working for Daddy’s company. Unless she was starting her own. Or working for someone else.
But now, Victor has finally agreed to stand aside and let Victoria (Amelia Heinle) be the official CEO. Does she deserve it? Over 6,000 fans weighed in.
The Young and the Restless Poll Results: As Much As Anyone
Is there a more appropriate method for becoming CEO of Newman Enterprises than by throwing a tantrum (and a knife at Daddy’s portrait) and announcing that unless she gets what she wants, she will take her ball and go home? Which, in Genoa City, means starting her own company (with what capital?) to compete with Victor’s?
Victor was so impressed with his little girl’s ruthlessness — finally, what was she waiting for before? — that he publicly announced he’s stepping down and her succession.
So, of course, Victoria deserves it, say 78% of you. Beating Victor at his own game was the only way it ever could have happened!
Quality Control
Has Victoria ever done something that wasn’t funded by her family or friends? Has she ever stood on her own two feet? Maybe it’s something she should give a whirl, 22% of The Young and the Restless fans suggest before she’s given the whole kit and caboodle. The child isn’t qualified. This is a disaster waiting to happen. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
