The Young and the Restless fans have very strong feelings about which couples they’d like to get together. They know who their favorites are that should stay together forever. But they have equally strong feelings about which couples they’d like to see break up.
The Young and the Restless Polling
Wait, what? So much for wanting happily ever after! Well, they do for some but these couples… well… not so much. Almost 13,000 gave us their top pick for who should go their separate ways.
Never Newbies
Lola (Sasha Calle) has been in Genoa City for a couple of years now. She was, for a hot minute, a member of a core family, when she married Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). That’s over now.
Theo (Tyler Johnson) has been around for less than a year. He was shoe-horned into the Abbott family. But he’s still pretty much a virtual stranger. So why should 54% of the fans care about their fledgling romance? Spoiler: They don’t.
Dancing on Their Graves
On the other hand, both Kyle and Summer (Hunter King) were born on-air. Viewers watched them grow up – off and on. They have every reason to be invested in them.
Then again, 34% of the viewers also saw Kyle dump the woman he married and claimed to worship after only a few months, then hop into bed with Summer less than an hour after he’d broken the news to Lola.
Now all they do is have sex, talk about how happy they are, and discuss how hard they’re working to become executives at their surprisingly young ages. They are the definition of smug privilege. And you are so over it.
Old and New
Chance (Danny Boaz) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) are also legacy characters. The most terrible thing they’ve done so far – together – is break into Phyllis’s (Michelle Stafford) room, steal her thumb-drive, destroy her computer, then have sex in her shower. It was more sneaky and tacky. And 9% of you don’t need to see more.
Kevin and Chloe: Love Birds
Only 3% want to see the end of Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). They’re having a baby. Let them be. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
