Watching classic episodes of The Young and the Restless might remind fans that Victor used to be a pretty bad dude who did some pretty bad things — all while looking incredibly suave, of course.
The Young and the Restless Polling
These days, he’s mostly mumbling about his children needing to respect him more, and folding beneath blackmail attempts, first from Adam (Mark Grossman), then Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Do you want to see him revert more to type? The view from over 2,000 viewers!
Outside Agitators
Victor (Eric Braeden) can go back to his wicked, wicked ways… as long as he isn’t battling his children, 57% of the audience advises. He can take on Jack (Peter Bergman). It would be nice to see Jack more. He can take on Kyle (Michael Mealor). But not Summer (Hunter King). Or Victoria or Adam or Nick (Joshua Morrow). You want to see family harmony. And outside turmoil.
Victor As Homebody
Less than half, 25% of you, would prefer to see Victor as a family man. You like watching him canoodling with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Playing chess with Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind). Kicking a soccer ball with Connor (Judah Mackey) and Christian for a few minutes before patting them on the head and sending them off to be minded by the help. Victor Newman, Patriarch of Genoa City. It may not be Must-See-TV, but it’s certainly a lot more peaceful. And age-appropriate.
Scorch the Earth
A last-place 18% want the old Victor back. You want him locking up his wife’s lover in the basement and torturing him. Hiring Paul (Doug Davidson) to do his dirty work. Raiding companies and not caring if his actions almost kill a man. Killing men, and not caring about that, either.
And the next time either Adam or Victoria get uppity, you want Victor to squash them both like the bugs they are. Nick, too, for good measure. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
