Victor is always front and center on The Young and the Restless. Whether it’s his story or somebody else’s, it can’t go on unless Victor has put his two cents in. Adam’s (Mark Grossman) emotional breakdown? Victor (Eric Braeden) is at the center of it. Summer (Hunter King) and Kyle (Michael Mealor)? Victor has an opinion about it.
The Young and the Restless Polling
But does Victor need a front-burner story of his own to really sink his teeth into? What almost 4,000 viewers told us about that:
Back In Black
Victor needs to come out of retirement, 62% of you assert. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is clearly running the company into the ground, and Jack (Peter Bergman) doesn’t have anyone to spar with.
Plus, Nick (Joshua Morrow) is going around acting like he’s his own man, Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) isn’t running to Victor for everything, and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is refusing to be his spy at Newman!
Victor wouldn’t need a spy if he went back to work, and we would have the thrill of watching The Mustache back in The Chair under The Portrait, yelling, “You got that?” right and left. Victor is no fun as a retiree, playing shuffleboard and eating soup. (OK, he’s not doing any of that, but there is also a danger he might start.) Get back to where you belong!
We’re Good
A smaller 38% of the audience is pretty happy with things how they are. Victor had a good, long run, and now it’s time for him to move aside and let the younger generation take center stage.
Victoria is really coming into her own as the head of Newman, Nick is enjoying being out from under Victor’s shadow, Abby (Melissa Ordway) has her own stuff going on, Summer is happy, and Nikki can finally do her own thing. Victor is fine where he is. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
