Is there really anybody who doesn’t think Jack and Jill are due for romance on The Young and the Restless? Sure, they tried it before. Jill was pretty into the young Abbott heir… until she met his even richer Daddy. Jill married John, though she cheated with Jack.
The Young and the Restless Polling
Now, Jill (Jess Walton) and Jack (Peter Bergman) have been having some very pleasant, dare we say it, adult, conversations. Could this be the mature romance we’ve all been waiting for? And would fans go for it, over 30 years after both characters were introduced? What almost 6,000 had to say:
Make It So
It was close, but 54% of the audience squeaked out a win for Yes! Jack hasn’t had a story in ages. Jill hasn’t been seen in ages. These are two still vibrant people. They are capable of doing more than just telling Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Theo (Tyler Johnson) to play nicely or worrying about Chance (Danny Boaz) and bad-mouthing Colin (Tristan Rogers).
Hopefully, both Mr. Abbott and Mrs. Abbott (but not to each other) have learned enough lessons over the course of their lives, and they won’t screw it up too badly. Then again, even if they do, they won’t hurt anyone but themselves. Which is more than most of Genoa City can say.
Walk Away Slowly
Bad, bad, bad idea, 46% of you counter. They’ve tried it before. More than once. These two chew each other up and spit each other out at least once every decade, if not more. We realize they’re due for this one, but what say we skip it?
We’re not saying Jack and Jill shouldn’t have love interests. We absolutely think that they should. It just shouldn’t be each other. Friendship is enough. Do another crossword puzzle, guys. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
