The Young and the Restless Poll Results: Is Show Moving In Right Direction?

Hasn’t it felt like The Young and the Restless has been treading water for the past year? We were introduced to the entire Rosales family… then the majority of them went away.

Adam (Mark Grossman) came back to town and proceeded to eat the show. Jack (Peter Bergman) had nothing to do but obsess over a newfound nephew. Billy (Jason Thompson) bounced from Phyllis (both Gina Tognoni and Michelle Stafford) to Summer (Hunter King) and back to Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Then he started chewing gum.

Sharon (Sharon Case) and Nick (Joshua Morrow) reunited… then broke up. And Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) were… there. Oh, also, something, something, Devon’s (Bryton James) money, something, something Cane (Daniel Goddard), something, something, woman who looks like Hilary (Mishael Morgan).

YR: Same Old, Same Old

Not really, 57% of you sigh. All that stuff that was happening before? It’s still happening. Billy can’t stop pouting about how nobody understands the depth and wonder that is him.

Adam is still on what feels like every day… and now Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) and Connor (Judah Mackey) are sucking up oxygen with him. Devon and Elena (Brytni Sarpy) are having a relationship off-screen and Jack still doesn’t have a life. So what should we be excited about, again?

New Directions

On the good news side, an optimistic 43% of The Young and the Restless fans are seeing some improvement. Looks like Sharon is going to get a good story, with education potential. Summer and Kyle (Michael Mealor) are clicking, despite his marriage to Lola (Sasha Calle).

Phyllis is firing on all cylinders — and flirting with Nick. Even Jill (Jess Walton) has had some scenes with her newly-returned grandson, Chance (Danny Boaz). So stuff is finally happening.
