The Young and the Restless Poll Results: Fans Pick The Worst 2019 Story

It’s been a VERY uneven year on The Young and the Restless. From the tear-jerking tribute to Kristoff St. John to Lily (Christel Khalil) and to Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) rather unceremonial departures.

Plus, from Adam (Mark Grossman) eating the show and Jack’s (Peter Bergman) biggest story being a book he and Traci (Beth Maitland) were writing — off-screen — it was a season of highs and lows. Almost 3,000 fans voted on their biggest disappointment of 2019.

The Young and the Restless: Gum Shoe

Billy (Jason Thompson) began chewing gum. Which meant he was evil. He also tried to kill Adam. But then he took a long nap and started feeling all better. So what was the point, 42% of you wonder? Then again, gum-chewing certainly beat his currently whiny personality.

The Will That Won’t

Years after her death, Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) will was suddenly being discussed. Turns out she didn’t leave her fortune to Devon (Bryton James), the grandson she barely knew. She left it to Cane, the grandson who wasn’t even real. Of course, that was a con.

Was it a plot by Colin (Tristan Rogers)? Was Cane in on it? Was Amanda (Mishael Morgan)? Somehow, 22% of the audience can’t summon up the will (ha, see what we did there?) to care.

Calvin’s Crimes

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) had a rich husband. He died. He left her some illegal money. She asked Kevin (Greg Rikaart) to help her launder it. A bad man came to town and held Chelsea, Adam, and Connor (Judah Mackey) hostage for it. He was caught. As 19% of The Young and the Restless fans yawned.

Victor: Not Dead

Victor (Eric Braeden) faked his death, and 9% of fans deemed it dumb. He did it to make Adam suffer. Adam did. Nothing changed. Nate (Sean Dominic) almost lost his medical license, though.

Alive and Well

JT is alive, and 6% of you didn’t take it well. Frankly, you felt the whole story was too convoluted from the beginning. And then it turned out nobody murdered JT at all. Ho-hum.

Just Kidding

Lola (Sasha Calle) needed a new liver. She got it, to the disappointment of 2%. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
