The Young and the Restless Poll Results: Do You Enjoy Summer and Theo?

On The Young and the Restless, Kyle and Lola are so, so happy. They can’t stop talking about how happy they are. The only time they do take a break from wallowing in their happiness is when they fight over Theo (Tyler Johnson).

Theo is a little less happy these days. He’s just found out he has a brand new family — and they all want him to come work for them. Theo finds it all a little overwhelming. He’s turning to Summer (Hunter King) for emotional support. Are they a hot couple in the making? Over 4,000 viewers let us know how they feel about “Thummer”:

They’re both rejects, 61% of the audience is unhappy to admit. Kyle dumped Summer (well, he dumped Theo, too), and Theo is getting nowhere with Lola. So they turn to each other out of… spite? Boredom? Proximity?

It’s hard to get excited about a couple when it seems like their coupling came about solely due to lack of other options. Theo wants everything Kyle has — or had. And Summer… really, doesn’t anyone know what Summer wants? She’s enjoying working at Jabot — does she know Jack (Peter Bergman) gave her a promotion? And she’s kind of reconciling with her mother. And… what else?

We Don’t Need Nobody

On the other hand, 39% of The Young and the Restless fans dig the pairing. Summer spent so much time chasing Kyle, it’s nice to see her being the one chased for a change. Theo is fun and playful. Two things most Kyle certainly isn’t now that he’s boring and married. Summer traded up… and now he’s a quasi-Abbott to boot? What could be better!
