Thrilling The Young and the Restless spoilers for Tuesday, August 23 reveal a day when Genoa City is on edge as major players come out to bat for Adam. Just when Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) thinks Adam (Justin Hartley) will do whatever it takes to get of out prison, he does something that comes from left field. At the hearing, Adam stands his ground and asserts a plan for himself.

If the guard dies from his injuries, Adam is prepared to spend life behind bars. This statement leaves his family stunned. The news hits Chelsea especially hard because she is mentally and emotional unraveling due to her husband’s ordeal. Will Adam realize the weight of his actions and retract his statements?

Elsewhere, The Young and the Restless spoilers tease Abby (Melissa Ordway) becomes suspicious Victor (Eric Braeden) is the person who framed Adam. She asks Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) the dreaded question, and like a loyal wife, Nikki defends Victor and assures Abby that her shady husband is innocent. Knowing her husband caused Adam’s downfall, Nikki is at a crossroads. Will she fess up to Abby or continue being Victor’s accomplice?
