The Young and the Restless To Return To Set Next Week

The Bold and the Beautiful returned to the set two weeks ago and already has episodes ready to go (although an air date hasn’t been determined as of yet). Now comes word that sister soap The Young and the Restless is ready to resume your Genoa City stories.

The Young and the Restless Should Be New Soon

YR cast and crew are set to return to production next week under strict new film and TV production guidelines meant to keep everyone safe during the coronavirus pandemic. They include social distancing measures, masks when not on camera, limited people on set, and a coronavirus safety supervisor to ensure all guidelines are being met. Routine COVID-19 testing will also be done.

While The Bold and the Beautiful is using actors’ spouses and blowup dolls as stand-ins for love scenes, we do not know if YR will do the same.

“Of course, we want to take every precaution to stay healthy, so I hope it all works out,” an unnamed actor told Soap Opera Digest.

When we last saw new episodes of YR, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) was once again back in the CEO chair of Newman Enterprises after taking Victor (Eric Braeden) to task for trying to push her out again. She had also exposed Adam’s childhood murder secret, prompting Victor to tell her he was ashamed. For once in her life, Victoria didn’t care. Soon we will see how this story continues.

The Young and the Restless History

YR made its debut on March 26, 1973, The series was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell. The show was ground-breaking in that it introduced more sexual undertones and adult themes to daytime. YR has won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series 10 times.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. The families driving stories on YR are the Newmans, the Abbotts, the Baldwins, and the Rosaleses.

Bringing the Drama

YR is one of four remaining dramas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas are General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). Anthony Morina is the show’s executive producer. Josh Griffith serves as co-executive producer/head writer. YR airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
