He might be getting ready for the Season 3 finale of his primetime CBS hit S.W.A.T. this Wednesday, but that doesn’t mean that Shemar Moore doesn’t have time to tell fans they should watch The Young and the Restless today. The actor made a point to say just that — and here’s why.
The classic episode being shown today is the first appearance of his beloved character, Malcolm Winters, on the Genoa City scene. Malcolm surprises his brother, Neil (the late Kristoff St. John), at his office and they spar immediately. Moore wants people to remember, so he posted a video clip to his Instagram account Monday evening.
“Homies, Fans, N Baby Girls!!!! This week is “The Winters Family” theme week on Y&R … Tomorrow they air my first episode… so here’s a look at my very first scene of my first episode of Y&R and it’s with my brother KRISTOFF ST. JOHN…. 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Tune in tomorrow to watch the full episode!!! #theyoungandtherestless #malcomwinters”
While Neil and Malcolm clashed, the relationship between Moore and St. John was one of brotherhood and kindness — and when St. John passed away, Moore was devastated — even coming on the show so that Malcolm could be there to pay his respects to his brother and then the actor took part in a special episode that paid tribute to the late actor.
This past February 3 was the one year anniversary of his death and Moore remembered his friend, saying, “One year….. I miss you STOFF!!! I always will… I hate that I can’t pick you up on my shoulders and talk shit with you anymore.. but One year.. two years.. Ten years…. for the rest of my breathing life, I will ALWAYS carry you in my heart!!
“Keep Dancing and White Boy Rapping and being a Goofball up there… I LOVE YOU n MISS YOU n HATE that you’re not telling me what I’m doing right or wrong!!! Till we meet again… and we Will meet again… THANK YOU!!!” The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
