On The Young and the Restless, Mattie Ashby worried about her mother after she had to leave the family to serve time for killing Hilary but in real life, her portrayer, Lexie Stevenson, has been worried about her father — who was put on life support during his battle with COVID-19. Now the young star as an incredible update for her fans.
It was just three weeks ago that Stevenson revealed that her father was fighting for his life against the coronavirus and was pleading for anyone who had the antibodies to please donate platelets that could possibly save her father’s life.
While we don’t know exactly what happened next, she did share some incredible news in her Instagram story. “YAY DADDY!!! Off to rehab for PT [physical therapy].” She also showed video (taken from a very safe distance away) of him making his way to a medical transport vehicle using a walker as health care workers and those gathered cheered him on.
She also summed up what had happened by showing old pictures of him in his hospital bed with typed out messages saying, “2 weeks ago my dad was admitted to the ICU with Covid-19… After he was sedated I told him if he gave up I’d be disappointed in him because he needed to fight for my mom and I. I have never been so scared. The chances of him making it weren’t great…”
But he came through and continues to fight his way back as he takes the next steps in his recovery process. Soap Hub couldn’t be happier for Stevenson, her father, her mom, as well as all of those who tried to help him on his road to recovery. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
