The Young and the Restless News Update: Kimberlin Brown Expands Her Family

Soap fans loved watching Sheila Carter move heaven and earth to become a mother on both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. Now, her portrayer, Kimberlin Brown’s real-life family is getting bigger as her son, Nicholas, is engaged to be married!

Brown, who has been popping up on classic re-broadcasts of both BB and YR while the show is airing reruns due to the coronavirus, made the daytime scene in 1990 as an ambitious nurse at Genoa City Memorial Hospital who had a mad crush on Dr. Scott Grainger (Peter Barton).

Even though Scott was wed to Lauren (Tracey Bregman), Sheila and Scott had a one-night stand which resulted in her becoming pregnant. Scott split from Lauren and wed Sheila to give his child a home. After Sheila miscarried, she bought a baby from some shady characters and swapped that infant with Lauren’s newborn. (Sheila wanted to raise Scott’s child.)

Eventually, the truth came out and Sheila faked her death and began a new life in Los Angeles on BB. Alas, she chose to become a nurse for Forrester Creations, which eventually led to her crossing paths with Lauren, a Forrester family friend. While Sheila lost Scott’s baby, she later gave birth to James’s (Ian Buchanan) daughter Mary (Courtnee Draper).

Sheila crossed over between shows, spending the majority of her time on BB. After being believed killed while on YR, Sheila last popped up on BB a few years ago, finding a new nemesis in Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer), the new wife of Sheila’s ex, Eric (John McCook).
