Reports have surfaced that The Young and the Restless is preparing to return to work this week. Those reports are being given more validity thanks to actors from the show, including Michelle Stafford, posting about getting back into certain routines.
Michelle Stafford: A Return to Phyllis?
“Well…” Stafford, who has played Phyllis Summers on and off since 1994, wrote on Instagram, “I guess I gotta start taking a shower and brushing my hair…Stay wise and healthy all of you beautiful people! ❤️ #whatatimetobealive #gratefuleveryday.”
Stafford and Phyllis burst onto the Genoa City scene as a spoiler in the love story between Danny (Michael Damian) and Christine (Lauralee Bell). Phyllis tricked Danny into thinking that they’d had sex one night when he was in New York starring in Andrew Lloyd Weber’s production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (which Damian was also performing in real-life).
Danny split from Christine via overnight letter (ouch) and Phyllis came to town for the funeral of Danny’s father Rex (Quinn Redeker), proclaiming she was “Mrs. Danny Romalotti” and also “the mother of Danny Romalotti, Jr.” Actually, only part of that was true. Viewers learned that Phyllis had tricked Danny into thinking they’d been intimate. He is not Daniel’s (Michael Graziadei) biological pop.
After splitting from Danny, Phyllis got involved with Michael Baldwin (Christian Jules Le Blanc) and later, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Later, Phyllis had an affair with Nick (Joshua Morrow) after the death of his daughter, Cassie (Camryn Grimes). They wed and had a daughter Summer (Hunter King).
Phyllis fell into a coma after falling down a flight of stairs while fighting with Sharon (Sharon Case). She returned just as Nick and Sharon were about to re-marry. Phyllis went on to have a fling with Billy (Jason Thompson) while being married to Jack.
More recently, she and Nick have rekindled their romance — again. What’s going to happen next? Viewers will find out when YR returns with new episodes. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
