Here and there, The Young and the Restless classic episodes, which have been airing since the show ran out of original programming due to the coronavirus, viewers have seen Danny Romalotti pop up. His portrayer, Michael Damian, is staying busy with a variety of projects but isn’t ruling out a return to Genoa City once YR is back with new stories.
Michael Damian As Danny Again?
“I don’t have a definite plan but I do know that the door is open,” Damian recently shared with Soap Opera News. “They’ve asked me to come back before for different events and I was not in the country because as a director I’ve been shooting all over the world. As I’ve told producers if I’m in LA and you want to have me come into Genoa City, absolutely! Let’s do it.”
Later this year, A Princess for Christmas, a Royal Christmas, which stars Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca, All My Children) premieres. “I love the holidays and Christmas,” Damian says. “[My wife] Janeen and I have written A Princess For Christmas, A Royal Christmas, and Crown For Christmas…It’s a very special story and filled with magic, romance, and Christmas. I really hope everyone loves it.”
Damian was especially pleased to see the classic re-airing of Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Danny’s wedding from 1991. “I’m so thankful that YR has been running those retro shows,” he says.
“It inspired me to do an Instagram Live with Lauralee [Bell] when they played the Hawaiian wedding. We did a whole commentary behind-the-scenes while that was running, and I did the same thing with Tracey Bregman (Lauren) and Beth Maitland (Traci). So, it’s really been fun reliving those moments, and reminiscing with all of us together has been incredibly enjoyable.” The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
