On-screen and off, Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby on The Young and the Restless, has an effervescent personality and is a joy to be around, but now, she’s speaking out on a very serious subject.
Melissa Ordway Has A Message
Via her Instagram page, The Young and the Restless star is shining a light on human trafficking. “Every 30 seconds a child is sold for sex, labor or organ harvesting,” the actress shared. “Most can’t even think about it, let alone talk about it. It’s too much to comprehend.
“However,” she notes, “the alternative to staying silent is more children like yours, mine, our friends and family, falling victim to this terrible reality. July 30th is World Day Against Human Trafficking. Join us as we raise awareness on behalf of these children whose voices have been silenced.
“If you want to learn and do more please swipe [on the post below] to read how you can help right now,” Ordway says. “Share and follow along. Our hearts are broken but we are committed to speaking up on behalf of the millions of children affected by trafficking worldwide, and the thousands of children that go missing each year in the United States. #SaveTheChildren #WhereAreAllTheChildren #endhumantrafficking.”
