Melissa Claire Egan has taken part in the social media campaign in which women are posting black and white photos of themselves in a sign of solidarity. However, The Young and the Restless actress has added a personal message to her post, emphasizing a private struggle she’s facing.

“As much as I want to only post that picture of me from a photoshoot years ago for this lovely #womensupportingwomen trend,” shared Egan, “I also feel I’m not really supporting women if we’re not honest with each other. So I’d actually rather post this one.”
The Emmy-nominated actress, who began her daytime stint on All My Children as Annie, says that her photo isn’t from the past, but rather “From today. At a fertility clinic. Dealing with some [expletive]. This is the real stuff women go through, and I thought I’d also share this, to all the wonderful women out there, including my own personal tribe of best girlfriends and supporters.
“Being a woman isn’t easy!!” Egan added. “But we’re tough and WE GOT THIS. Love all you women warriors!!! #womensupportingwomen.”
