To paraphrase that old cough syrup commercial, he’s not only not a doctor but he no longer doesn’t even play one on TV. We’re talking about Jason Thompson, who plays The Young and the Restless’ Billy Abbott.
Fans recall he played Dr. Patrick Drake on General Hospital for years before taking on the executive character role of Billy on YR. So even though he’s not a physician on or off-screen, he’s still reaching out with some practical advice that he believes will benefit your health and the health of those around you.
“Most important 2 things US can do better-Health & Education,” Jason Thompson tweeted. “Now and always. Should be a right for ALL. Continue to be vigilant & compassionate. Keep people safe and alive. When the #’s go👇🏼 kids can get back in class. We get back to work. The future depends on it. Wear a mask.”
It’s always a risk to take a stand on an issue, particularly in today’s world. Thompson’s post was met with mostly supportive comments.
“I agree 100%,” posted @6207sonny. “Healthcare & education should be available to everyone. We also do need to do whatever we can to keep everyone safe. We are all in this together. I will gladly wear a mask to protect my community.”
The Young and the Restless, according to social media posts, is back to work. That means fans may be seeing original episodes in the coming weeks. Viewers last saw Billy taking on a new role running a media company and being partnered, professionally that is, with former love interest Lily (Christel Khalil).
After dating Lily, Billy went on to have romances with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Victoria (Amelia Heinle), and others. Lily was paired with Cane (Daniel Goddard) for years. Now, the two are sharing scenes again. Could business turn into pleasure? It’s possible. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
