Time will tell if Summer and Faith develop any famous sibling rivalry (like Leslie and Lorie Brooks once did) on The Young and the Restless. But in real life, it’s harder to find a more devoted sibling than Hunter King, who plays Nick and Phyllis’ daughter, Summer Newman.
Hunter King: Her Sister’s Cheerleader
“My little Santa’s movie The Kissing Booth 2 DROPS AT MIDNIGHT ON NETFLIX!!!!” King posted on Instagram along with a photo of her sister, Joey King, dressed up as Santa Claus!”
While holiday flicks tend to air around, well, the holidays, King assures her followers that The Kissing Booth 2 is not a Christmas film, acknowledging that the photo might be confusing. “I love you weirdo!” King adds, “❤️ everyone go watch Kissing Booth right now and get ready for KB2!! @thekissingboothnetflix @joeyking @joel_courtney.”
According to Netflix, the setup to the film is as follows: “When teenager Elle’s (Joey King) first kiss leads to a forbidden romance with the hottest boy in high school, she risks her relationship with her best friend.” The movie also stars Joel Courtney (The Messengers) and Jacob Elordi (Euphoria).
Hunter King has done double-duty on YR in the past, playing both Summer and Clementine on the CBS sitcom Life in Pieces. The latter ended its run earlier this year, but King has picked up another series, ABC’s Prospect. She’s set to play the lead, Abigail Lansing, described as “an idealistic young woman who moves to the frontier to be a schoolteacher.” Alas, Abigail’s ideals are quickly put to a test upon discovering that she’s not teaching children, but rather rowdy ranch hands.
However, Prospect isn’t on ABC’s recently announced primetime schedule for the 2020-21 season. Could Prospect still find its way to the airwaves as a mid-season replacement? Or might it be picked up by another network? Soap Hub will keep you posted on developments as they become available. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
