The Young and the Restless cast Rory Gibson as legacy character Noah Newman a few months ago. He supposedly returned to Genoa City after experiencing a bad breakup in London. However, since his return, he’s been mopey and basically started looking like a stalker when his half-sister Mariah Copeland and ex-girlfriend Tessa Porter were around. It’s time for the soap to fix this mess.

Young and the Restless Mess

Noah is the son of Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case). The one-time soap super couple will likely eventually find their way back to each other in their golden years, and their children help form the next generation of the show. Having Noah peeking in windows and looking sad when Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) are around is looking pretty pathetic at this point. It doesn’t even make that much sense because Noah dealt with his Tessa breakup and Mariah stealing his girlfriend a while ago.

Feeling as if your life isn’t where you want it when your sibling gets engaged is understandable, but what’s happening with Noah goes far beyond that. He’s been back long enough that we should’ve learned more details of his London debacle, and he should’ve had some type of storyline apart from looking sad when Tessa is around. Instead, it almost feels like the writers have no idea what to do with Noah, which is bizarre since they bothered to recast him.

A New Hope(ful) Outlook

We desperately hope that Noah will have a new hope (see what we did there?) by working alongside Nick to help others. If that doesn’t help him snap out of his pouty routine, we don’t know what will. It is time for Noah to get a life outside of looking sad and essentially telling Tessa he loves her, er, his sister.
