Jess Walton, who has played Jill on The Young and the Restless since 1987, celebrated her 30th anniversary with the show last year! And that’s not the only special event in her life.
This past weekend, Walton celebrated her birthday! The actress who was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan made some birthday wishes!
While she was born in the U.S., Walton was actually raised in Toronto, Canada. As a young woman, she moved to Hollywood and was signed to a contract at Universal Studios.
After appearing in several series as a guest star throughout the 70s (Medical Center, Kojak, The Rockford Files, and Barnaby Jones), Walton landed the plum role of Kelly Harper on the CBS sudser Capitol. Alas, Capitol was taken off the airwaves in 1987, but Walton wasn’t out of work for long. She was hired to take over the role of Jill Foster Abbott and began airing in June of that year.
Today, Walton appears sporadically on the show as the actress divides her time between Hollywood and her home in Oregon. But as far as Y&R fans are concerned, Walton can’t be on as Jill often enough!
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
