Eric Braeden has once again taken to social media to make his point clear. This time, The Young and the Restless star has a message for a returning co-star and he’s setting the record straight!
Recently, Braeden tweeted out support to existing cast member Gina Tognoni, who just wrapped her run as Phyllis on YR. This caused some fans to question where the actor’s “loyalties” were.
But, Braeden tweeted his feelings on Tognoni and Michelle Stafford. “I have nothing but the greatest respect for GINA TOGNONI,” the Emmy-winning actor tweeted. “She’s a consummate professional!” He added that her exit is a stark reminder of how fleeting show business can be.
The YR vet wrote in another post that he couldn’t be happier that Stafford is coming back as Phyllis. “I’m very glad she’s back where she belongs &look forward to working with her!”
Check out Braeden’s tweets below. He looks forward to the new, old Phyllis and so do we. Just like we’ll miss everything Gina Tognoni brought to this iconic soap role for the last five years.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.

I’d like to make something very clear, bec I hate misunderstandings! I have nothing but the greatest respect for GINA TOGNONI, she’s a consummate professional! And , as with all colleagues who leave for one reason or another, it reminds us how fleeting this business is, sadly!

Having said that, I couldn’t be happier that MICHELLE STAFFORD is back! When she left Y&R I was very upset, bec she defined the character of Phyllis, it was her creation! I’m very glad she’s back where she belongs &look forward to working with her!
