The soap’s anniversary celebration brings a couple more stars from yesteryear back to the Genoa City fold this week. Barbara Crampton returns as Leanna Love, the ruthless reporter and onetime wife of Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). She made her last appearance back in 2007.
Meanwhile, Veronica Redd is back as Mamie Johnson. Johnson acted as a surrogate mother to the Abbott children, Jack (Peter Bergman), Ashley (Eileen Davidson), and Traci (Beth Maitland) when Dina (Marla Adams) divorced John (Jerry Douglas) and settled in Paris. Her run-ins with John’s much younger wife, Jill (Jess Walton), were legendary. It was Johnson who took in her troubled niece, Drucilla (Victoria Rowell), introducing the Barber family to the Genoa City fold. The former and much beloved Abbott housekeeper was last on screen in 2004 when her character left to travel the world.
