Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)?
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future?
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.
The week of May 28, 2018
After a year and a half absence, Hunter King is heading back to Genoa City as Summer Newman.
The actress last aired in December 2016, when her character left college and took off to travel around the world. At the time, King had been upped to series regular on Life in Pieces and left to focus on the hit comedy.
With the primetime show now on hiatus, the powers-that-be at Y&R worked King into their summer storyline plans. She begins airing in June.
The soap has put out a pair of casting calls. One is for an actress in her early 20s to portray Sofia, a character is described as beautiful, independent and ambitious.
The show is also looking for an actor in the 30 to 40-year-old age range to play the strikingly handsome Carlos. Both roles are slated to begin filming in mid-June.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
