Madison Thompson makes her debut as Jordan on Tuesday, October 27; a new resident of Genoa City. The character is being described as a worldly young woman with a lot more to her than initially meets the eye, which sounds like she’ll be stirring up trouble.
The 19-year-old actress, who began filming on September 29, is a newcomer to the daytime scene, but not the entertainment industry. She previously held down a major recurring role on Season 3 of the Netflix drama Ozark, playing Erin, the teenage daughter of Janet McTeer’s character, Helen Pierce. Thompson has also appeared on American Housewife and NCIS: New Orleans.
YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.
From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Paul Williams’ (Doug Davidson) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Lola (Sasha Calle), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more. Sadly, times are shifting and daytime soap operas are shrinking.
It is one of only four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). YR airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
