It’s official. The soap has finally begun looking to recast the role of Adam Newman, Victor’s (Eric Braeden) son with the late Hope (Signy Coleman). The show has put out a casting call for an experienced actor to test for the powerful role.
The character was initially played by Chris Engen from 2008 to 2009. Michael Muhney took over the part in 2009, but was abruptly written off in January 2014. Justin Hartley debuted as Adam in November 2014. He left in September 2016, when Adam was “killed off” in an explosion at a cabin.
Adam’s imminent return, of course, opens up questions about whether Melissa Claire Egan could be lured back to the show. Egan played Adam’s true love and baby mama, Chelsea.
She left last year under mysterious circumstances, but perhaps she was off to meet Adam and they’ve been conspiring together…
