Who’s coming and who’s going from The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future? Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring or day player roles? Are any well remembered or beloved stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join The Young and the Restless fold in surprise new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the CBS soap.

The Young and the Restless Comings and Goings

Reylynn Caster debuts in the role of Faith Newman, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) daughter, on Monday, April 12. Although a newcomer to daytime, the teenage actress had lead roles on the CBS series Me, Myself & I and Netflix’s The Big Show Show, as well as a recurring part on ABC’s American Housewife. She was also a lead in the 2019 film, Adventures of Dally & Spanky.

Caster replaces Alyvia Alyn Lind, who exited the soap last week. Lind is set to tackle a role in the USA Network/Syfy series Chucky.

Lauralee Bell pops in for another appearance as Christine Blair Williams.

Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy, Days of our Lives) was featured as Sally’s (Courtney Hope) grandmother, Shirley Spectra, last week. Darbo, of course, originated the role on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2017. There’s no official word as to whether or not she’ll be making future appearances on the soap.

Please note that air dates may be subject to change.

The Young and the Restless History

YR made its debut in 1973 and introduced more sexual undertones and younger characters to daytime soap operas. It has outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households. Needless to say, four decades of storylines have kept viewers locked in and wanting more.

From Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) family machinations to Rey Rosales’s (Jordi Vilasuso) heroism to the adorable love story of Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Summer (Hunter King), YR knows how to entertain and keep fans coming back for more.

Bringing the Drama

It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). YR airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
