September 1, 2016 marks a special day for the cast and crew of “The Young and the Restless.” The long-running CBS soap will air its 11,000th episode.

Reaching a Milestone
After 43 years on the air, the show has seen its fair share of significant changes. Cast members have come and gone, but fan love barely wanes. Y&R continues its 27-year reign at the top of the ratings heap.

The show plans to go big to celebrate this milestone. Two returning characters are already on the agenda. Michael Graziadei (Daniel) and Tristan Rogers (Colin) start appearing in late August and will continue through to the big day.

Hot Plots!
According to People.com, the month leading up to the 11,000th episode will be chock full of action. The love triangle between Jack (Peter Bergman), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), and Billy (Jason Thompson) explodes when Jack learns the heartbreaking truth about his wife and brother.

Also, watch for drama surrounding Summer (Hunter King) and bad boy Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva). The Newman clan tries breaking them up to get the smarmy Santori out of her life, and out of Genoa City!

Honoring a Legend!
September 1st isn’t the only date to mark on your calendars. Later this month, the show also honors one of the most beloved actresses in the history daytime television. On July 25th, Y&R airs a special segment featuring iconic actress Jeanne Cooper (Katherine).
