The doctor is out! According to published reports, The Young and the Restless is making a big casting change. Brooks Darnell is out as Dr. Nate Hastings and a new actor is taking over the role.
The show has hired Sean Dominic to play the part of Olivia (Tonya Lee Williams) and the late Nathan’s (Adam Lazarre White) son.
Dominic’s credits include the series Greenleaf, Situationships, and the upcoming Code 13: Unreadable.
Nate’s been back on the scene for almost a year. The show has mostly utilized him in his role as a doctor, tending to various medical crises in Genoa City.
He’s had no actual storyline of his own and no love interest. But, he sure has been everyone’s confidant and a personal doc for the Newman clan.
Most recently, Nate filled in Lola’s (Sasha Calle) loved ones as she underwent liver surgery courtesy of donor Summer (Hunter King). He also managed to remove JT’s brain tumor because he’s a doctor of all trades.
Dominic is set to debut on Wednesday, April 10. At posting time, Darnell had yet to address the exit on social media.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
