While not everyone is in support of the Tessa/Mariah relationship on The Young and the Restless, many fans love it!
One concerned supporter tweeted executive producer/head writer Mal Young there are rumors Cait Fairbanks, who plays Tessa, would be leaving the show and she hopes they’re not true!
Fortunately, Young replied on social media that Fairbanks’ rumored departure is “not true”.
It’s easy to see why fans may feel that Tessa would be leaving. Most of the new characters who came onto Y&R last year have departed Genoa City.
Graham (Max Shippee) went to that great soap in the sky after the athletic man failed to overpower a semi-sleeping septuagenarian, Dina, played by Marla Adams, with a lethal syringe.
Laur Allen’s Juliet died in childbirth as she was no match for the legion of Cane (Daniel Goddard) and Lily (Christel Khalil) fans who don’t want their favorite couple separated.
Scott (Daniel Hall) hightailed it out of town after he professed his love for Sharon (Sharon Case), but still slept with Abby (Melissa Ordway).
Fortunately, Fairbanks won’t be joining these other characters who’ve disappeared in the recent past. Earlier this year, the actress scored a Daytime Emmy nomination for her role as Tessa in the Outstanding Younger Leading Actress in a Drama Series category.
Co-star Camryn Grimes (Mariah) was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and won in that category.
For now, Tessa’s not only not going away, but her story with Mariah appears to be heating up again. Will viewers warm to it? Stay tuned!
