Beloved as Drucilla Winters on The Young and the Restless, Victoria Rowell recently did something that she hopes others will decide to follow her lead — and she shows just how easy it is to accomplish — she got her COVID-19 vaccine!
Rowell recorded a video of her getting her first COVID-19 vaccine shot as indicated in her Instagram post. “#Auntievicki #auntie in line for the #COVID19Vaccine #SleeveUp,” Rowell wrote.
People have different thoughts on needles, but Rowell wants to assure her followers that the process of getting her first vaccination shot was relatively simple and painless. “Okay, I’m getting ready,” said Rowell, prepping herself for an uncomfortable feeling, “I’ve got to look away and just breathe in and breathe out.” (Don’t most of us do this before getting an injection?)
Before she knew it, the process for getting her first shot was complete. “Oh, my god,” Rowell said. “I was bracing myself for something. It’s over. Thank you so much. That was like…a breeze. No kidding. It’s nothing.” Rowell received a positive response from her followers on her post. “Ms. Victoria thank you for reminding me that I have my first COVID shot this morning!” posted @gnycbkyn. “I have always been a fan of yours. Love you and stay safe!”
The actress became an instant fan favorite when she joined YR back in 1990. Introduced as Mamie’s (Veronica Redd) niece, Rowell’s Drucilla went on a journey from a troubled young lady, who had yet to learn how to read, to a happily married wife, mother, and supermodel.
Neil (the late Kristoff St. John) and Dru were one of daytime’s top supercouples. Tragically, Dru presumably fell to her death in 2007 while she, Sharon (Sharon Case), and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) were struggling by a cliff over a phone.
Since exiting Genoa City, Rowell has gone on to produce and star in several projects, including The Rich & the Ruthless, Merry Christmas, Baby, and Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta. She’s currently working on The Jury, which also stars Rick Fox.
Rowell returned to YR in 2019 for a special episode in which co-stars and friends of the late St. John reminisced about their pal. Check out the actress’s social media post on her vaccination below. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
