It seemed like if you blinked, you may have missed the moment when Reed Helstrom returned to The Young and the Restless to check on his mother Victoria after she was the victim of a stabbing. But one thing you won’t want to miss is when his portrayer, Tristan Lake Leabu, picks up a guitar and shares beautiful music he’s created.
Tristan Lake Leabu Debuts New Song
The young star did just that — two in as many days — and his voice and talent can bring joy during these trying times as we stay at home, trying to keep the recent coronavirus pandemic at bay. Leabu revealed these new songs to his followers on Instagram.
“This is a song of mine called Blue Eyed Stranger,” he wrote alongside the video’s caption of the first one. But on the second, he wrote, “Here’s another new one called Have We Been Wrong… pretty inconspicuously played through a very Hendrix rig. ‘69/‘71 strat into an @isle_of_tone Haze 67 Fuzz (guitar volume tuned down), into the @sabbadius Fillmore East Funky Vibe set to vibrato, with a @origineffects cali76 for a little compression, and the delays comin from the @dawnerprince boonar. One of my favorite signal paths. Super inspiring.”
Where Is Reed
It’s a mystery why the show feels the need to keep Reed away at school when Leabu adds a wonderful spark to the ongoing music scene for the show. If you recall, Reed was one of the reasons Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) stuck around town so long — after Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) hired the homeless artist to tutor her grandson, who was determined to learn how to play the guitar.
Well, Tessa is now a big star after her tour. Wouldn’t it be great to see her team up with a now-wiser Reed to make Society an even more hip place for the younger set to hang out? The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
