It looks like Alicia Coppola’s delightful turn as Meredith on “The Young and the Restless” is coming to an end. After being paired with Victor Newman, the character seemed to have potential. Now that he’s in the process of reconciling with Nikki, it looks like it’s the end of the road for the good doctor.
“Thank you to everyone for all of your love & support of Meredith on @YandR_CBS.
Even to those who hated her,” tweeted the actress.
She was met with support from fans. One suggested that Meredith should hook up with Jack (Peter Bergman), who will probably be free soon. The actress responded back to the fan.
“I would have loved to work with Peter Bergman on @YRInsider @YandR_CBS. He’s a lovely actor!”
Jack is certainly smarting after Phyllis suggested she needed a break from their marriage. His heart is in need of mending – who better than Dr. Gates to stitch it back together!
In the Beginning
Coppola began her Y&R stint in early spring. She first made a splash in daytime over 20 years ago when she played Lorna Devon on “Another World.” That role gave her the lifelong friendship with the two women who played her onscreen mother and sister, Linda Dano (ex-Felicia) and Alla Korot (ex-Jenna, now Janet on “Days of Our Lives”) respectively.

During her time away from soaps, the actress has had a very successful primetime career. In addition to numerous guest spots, she was a series regular on cult classic “Jericho” and played Lt. Commander Faith Coleman on two shows — “JAG” and “NCIS.”
