Soap opera stories either crawl or fly by, meaning that sometimes we have to miss big developments. Never fear, Soap Hub is here to fill you in on what you missed last week on The Young and the Restless.
Schemers Unite
A near-collision on the highway reunited Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Adam (Mark Grossman) and the two schemers extraordinaire proved that the old adage, “misery loves company” was certainly a correct one.
Over drinks, they both agreed that what they desired more than anything was legitimacy, power and success and Adam believed he had the perfect plan to help them both achieve that goal: All he needed was for Phyllis to hack into Dark Horse and glean as much information as possible.
Health Crisis
While sharing a flirty moment with Nate (Sean Dominic), Abby (Melissa Ordway) accidentally saw a text message from Victor (Eric Braeden) requesting that he and Nate begin his treatment as soon as possible. Worried, Abby insisted that Victor tell her what was wrong but he insisted that it was nothing more than problems with his aching back.
However, when Abby brought her concerns to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) — who readdressed them with her husband — Victor admitted it was much more serious. He told his wife that he had been diagnosed as suffering from a rare blood disorder but asked her to keep the news from their immediate family for the time being.
Kyle and Lola Get Engaged
Buoyed by the commitment ceremony thrown by Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Billy (Jason Thompson), Kyle (Michael Mealor) threw caution to the wind and proposed to Lola (Sasha Calle).
Although she was initially reluctant Lola finally came around to the idea and wholeheartedly accepted. The proceeding was made even more joyous when Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) gave the engagement his blessing.
A Haunting
With the penthouse to themselves, Elena (Brytni Sarpy) and Devon (Bryton James) shared a romantic evening together and he asked her to remain there with him rather than look a new place to stay. She agreed and they adjourn to the bedroom where they made love.
When he returned downstairs for a drink, he saw the ghostly apparition of his late wife Hilary (Mishael Morgan). She was gone when Elena came down to join them but when they embraced again, Devon saw Hillary’s scowling spirit.
Instant Karma
Phyllis took Adam up on his partnership and her hacking skills resulted in Adam owning the $27 million debt that Nick (Joshua Morrow) had accrued to get Dark Horse off the ground.
She found cold comfort in the $2 million Adam paid her and silently ruminated on her decision in her darkened hotel room. Suddenly, she was attacked from behind and rendered unconscious.
Phyllis awakened in a cold cement room, devoid of cell service, while her captor — revealed to be Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) — stood just outside the door listening to her panicked cries.
