Soap opera stories either crawl or fly by, meaning that sometimes we have to miss big developments. Never fear, Soap Hub is here to fill you in on what you missed last week on The Young and the Restless.
The Young and the Restless: Survival
In the least shocking soap opera shocker, it was revealed that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is alive and well. It turned out he and most of his family (sans Summer) had cooked up this elaborate scheme to fake the mogul’s death to smoke out Adam (Mark Grossman).
But, now that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) was being framed for the crime the family have hit a bit of a roadblock and are unsure how to proceed.
Breakthrough
Reeling from the news about Victor’s death and having gained a new perspective on his upbringing, Jack (Peter Bergman) spent an afternoon with his mother. He apologized for vilifying her for his entire life and he opinions that he now understands her struggles and why she did what she did.
He told her that he loves her and for a brief moment, Dina (Marla Adams) recognized him, reciprocates his feelings and leaned in for a comforting hug.
Proposition
Sharon (Sharon Case) arrived at Adam’s and implored him to clear Victoria’s name — they both know she would never poison Victor. When Adam asked what would be in it for him Sharon offered to be his conscience and keep him on the straight and narrow.
However, she wasn’t prepared for his next question: does she love him? When Sharon couldn’t say yes, Adam escorted her to the door and said that if he can’t have a full relationship with her he isn’t interested in anything else.
