Why The Abbotts Desperately Need Traci Back Full-Time on The Young and the Restless

Turmoil, trouble, and dissension in the Abbott family means one thing: they desperately need Traci back full-time on The Young and the Restless (YR).

Between Dina’s (Marla Adams) Alzheimer’s, the stunning reveal that Jack (Peter Bergman) isn’t the late John Abbott’s (Jerry Douglas) son, and the hullabaloo at Jabot, the daytime family is in a freefall.

However, having Traci (Beth Maitland) around all the time, instead of just popping in and out of Genoa City for visits, could help this Y&R clan get through these tumultuous times.

Family Favorite
Traci’s the one member of the Abbott clan who everyone adores. She has no hidden agenda or axe to grind with any of her siblings. She’s pure honesty and caring and, when needed, can dole out the tough love.

Her wisdom resonates with her brothers and big sis Ashley (Eileen Davidson). They know they can count on her as the voice of reason, and everyone actually listens to her.

The Mediator
During Jack and Ashley’s worst battles, Traci is the one who can step in, sit them down, and get each of them to see the light – eventually. When it looks like familial relationships are beyond repair, she’s the one who can step in an facilitate peace.

She never stopped prodding Jack and Billy (Jason Thompson) during their long estrangement, pointing out that they are brothers above and beyond everything and finally getting them to see the light and reconcile.

She’s the mediator, the peacemaker, and the kind of person every family needs to keep them bonded and together.

The Mother Figure
Another Abbott who would really benefit from Traci being on hand all the time is Kyle (Michael Mealor). The young man’s been without a mother since Diane’s demise, and Traci is the next best thing, who can aptly fill that void in his life.

She listens to his problems and offers wonderful advice and a warm shoulder for support. Having lost her only child, Colleen, Kyle fills a void in Traci’s life, too, as he’s the one she can direct her strong, soothing maternal instinct toward. It’s a win-win for everyone.

The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for air times.
