No Abbott sibling is looking too great these days on The Young and the Restless.
Jack (Peter Bergman) used the fact that Ashley (Eileen Davidson) wasn’t John Abbott’s biological daughter to oust her from Jabot. His siblings made frowny faces at him, but life pretty much went on as before.
So, Ashley decided that turnabout was fair play, and set it up so that Dina (Marla Adams) would confess about Jack not being John’s either.
Now that the truth is out, Ashley is persona non-gratta. She’s shouting, “Hypocrites!” and refusing to keep being held to a higher standard. But Traci (Beth Maitland), Abby (Melissa Ordway), and, especially, Jack, are not appeased.
How about you? Are you Team Jack or Team Ashley? Almost 19,000 fans voted on it!
Team Jack Attack!
Jack may have done some terrible things over the three decades we’ve watched him in Genoa City, but this was beyond the pale, 75% of you decree.
Sure, he’s never been punished for most of his crimes, but neither has Victor (Eric Braeden)! So that makes it fair! Ashley had no right to treat Jack the way he’d treated her, because Jack is bad, and Ashley is good.
And switching places just makes everything more confusing than you care for. She deserves to be punished, because Ashley isn’t Jack or Victor. You don’t need a better reason than that.
Teach Ashley For Me!
For 25% of the audience, however, Ashley’s revenge was a long time coming. She always played second fiddle to her big brother, but she put up with it… until he publicly humiliated her via the Blood Abbott Clause.
Jack claims that was business, while what Ashley did was personal. Jack is full of it. Ashley was right to fight fire with fire. And getting fired over it was just another double standard.
