There are a couple of indisputable facts on The Young and the Restless: Short sleeves are enough coverage in a Wisconsin winter, Jack Abbott can never win, and Victor Newman always has the last word on everything.
When Victor (Eric Braeden) decided to hand his life’s work, Newman Enterprises, over to daughter Victoria (Amelia Heinle), he did. When he changed his mind and decided Adam (Mark Grossman) would be CEO instead, he did that, too. Except Victoria wasn’t about to walk about. She blackmailed Daddy into keeping her in the executive suite, then proceeded to sell off pieces of the company to the people Victor hates the most.
Victor put on his angry face and vowed to fight back. Will he destroy his own daughter the way he’s destroyed countless others? What over 4,000 fans expect:
Why wouldn’t Victor destroy Victoria, 73% shrug? This is the guy who sued Nick (Joshua Morrow) for custody of Christian just because he wasn’t pleased with the idea of his grandson living in another state. This is also the man who sent Adam to jail. Blood is thicker than water when Victor wants loyalty.
But that water doesn’t flow in the other direction. Victor is happy to crush his offspring beneath his heel to prove the point of how much he loves them. Victoria made Victor mumble threats, and then she blew them off. He’s blown more people off their mortal coil for less.
A much smaller 27% of the audience believes that Victor may unroll his version of tough love on his boys, but he’d never do that to his namesake princess! Victoria is a girl child, she can’t be expected to take responsibility for her actions like her brothers. She just needs Daddy to explain the error of her way to her one more time. She’ll come around. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
