Sasha Calle, who has been playing Lola on The Young and the Restless since 2018, has landed the role of Supergirl in the upcoming Flash movie. This will mean her taking time off from Genoa City.
What should happen to her character in the meantime? What over 2,000 viewers would like to see happen:
A majority 63% of you see a simple solution to the show’s dilemma: Lola can go hang out in Miami with Celeste (Eva LaRue), Arturo (Jason Canela), Mia (Noemí González), and their baby. Didn’t she just open a restaurant there? Doesn’t it need attention? Let her pop down to turn it into the same success Society is – although we only seem to see the same people there day, after day.
Can the place stay afloat exclusively on the food purchases of Abby’s (Melissa Ordway) Abbott and Newman family connections? Once her Miami spot is equally hopping – and Flash finishes filming – Lola can come back and pick up where she left off.
There is no reason for Lola to stay in Genoa City, 24% of the audience counters. Kyle (Michael Mealor) dumped her. She doesn’t seem to be seeing someone else, and Elena (Brytni Sarpy) can always take over the lease on her apartment. Even Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) has recovered from his poisoning. So bid this town bye-bye, Lola. No good came of moving here. Put it in the rear-view mirror and move on!
Only 13% see any reason to recast the role. Lola has just been a sympathetic ear to other characters lately. She hasn’t had her own story. If the powers that be really think she is necessary to keep around, they might as well go ahead and find a new actress. No way is Calle coming back once she becomes a major movie star. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
