Victor has made his wishes clear on The Young and the Restless: He doesn’t want precious granddaughter Claire with Kyle. But he can live with precious granddaughter Summer with Kyle. Make it so, young people! Summer isn’t down with his program. Neither is Claire. Summer sounded supportive and interested in Claire’s dilemma when the cousins had coffee on the February 12 episode. Which we believe she was. But not for the reasons Summer wants Claire to think.
First, Best, Last, Always
When Summer (Allison Lanier) said goodbye to Claire (Hayley Erin), she reassured her, “Don’t worry. Things will work out exactly the way they’re supposed to.” Claire didn’t appear reassured.
And Claire wasn’t even in town for the bulk of the Summer/Kyle (Michael Mealor) saga. We were, though. We know that Summer’s stance is, “When I want Kyle, I should have Kyle. When I don’t want Kyle, Kyle should still want me. When I don’t want Kyle, I don’t want anyone else to have him, either.” Sure, Summer is all Mommy of the Year and Aren’t We a Happy Family now. But, hey, remember when Kyle was in love with Lola (Sasha Calle), and she was dying and needed a liver transplant, and Summer blackmailed Kyle into marrying her so that the woman he really wanted would DIE? Yeah. Summer doesn’t play.

Girl Talk
Summer can pretend to be mentoring her poor, sheltered, emotionally abused, and fragile cousin. That’s what family does! We’re here for each other!
Trust me, nobody knows Grandpa Victor (Eric Braeden) better than Summer. She can help guide Claire through this little family rough patch. Just follow Summer’s advice, and soon, you’ll have both Kyle and Grandpa’s love! We don’t buy it. We know a case of sabotage when we see it. We can only hope that Claire—who was raised by Jordan (Colleen Zenk), the greatest manipulator ever—will too.
