Young and the Restless Star Eric Braeden Weighs In On Jake Paul & Mike Tyson Fight

Eric Braeden and his The Young and the Restless character Victor Newman have a common interest: boxing. Like Victor, Braeden loves to put on his gloves and go a few rounds on the punching bag. While he’s never competed in a boxing match, the actor enjoys watching the sport. This past weekend, he watched the highly-anticipated Jake Paul and Mike Tyson fight and didn’t hold back in his opinion.

Impressed By Paul Vs. Tyson

Paul vs. Tyson was the most hyped fight of the year. Boxing legend Tyson came out of retirement after nearly 20 years to face Paul, a YouTube star turned fighter. On Friday, November 15, over 60 million people tuned in to Netflix to watch their bout.

Tyson lasted all eight rounds, but at the end of the night, Paul won by unanimous decision. The match was met with mixed reactions, with most people criticizing the outcome. However, Braeden was one of the few impressed with the fight.

On X (formerly Twitter), the actor praised Paul for his skills in the ring. “Jake Paul fought a smart fight! First two rounds he tied Mike Tyson up! Then he had tired him out and started jabbing a lot and cleverly went in and out, quickly! Had he stayed close to Tyson, he would more likely have lost! Jake Paul is crazy smart!!”

But the actor thinks Paul would have a tough time against other top boxers.

“Now,” Braeden began. “He should take on a Tyson Fury, then he’ll lose!! Or Deonte Wilder! Jake Paul also had a reach advantage! Respect frontage boy! Very clever and gutsy!!”

Paul scored out another win by taking out Tyson, but how would he fare in a match against Braeden or his alter ego Victor? That’s a dream match some soap fans would love to see.
