Fans were stunned when Diane Jenkins — all alive and looking fabulous — waltzed into Allie Ngueyn’s house…and when she revealed herself to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Jack couldn’t have been more shocked and horrified.
This is likely the worst possible scenario he can think of. Luckily, for Jack, we can think of a worse one. What if Diane (Susan Walters) isn’t actually Diane. What if Diane…is Patty Williams?
Where Young and the Restless Credit Is Due
We got the idea from viewer Susan Martin Hollingsworth, who wondered if maybe Diane poisoned Keemo and forged all of Keemo’s tearful letters to his dad as a way of getting Jack to Los Angeles and making sure her son, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), was Jack’s only heir. But Susan also wondered if Diane was actually Diane. What if she was Patty with yet more plastic surgery? And we loved that idea!

Y&R Spoilers: Perfect Sense
When a mentally compromised Patty got plastic surgery to look like her psychologist and seduce Jack, that was an out-of-the-blue surprise. But if Patty is going to keep altering her face, Diane Jenkins actually makes much more sense.
Blast From the Y&R Past
Because Diane is the one who sent Patty on her path to mental illness. It was seeing Jack in bed with Diane on her wedding day that first pushed Patty over the edge and into mentally dissociating enough to shoot her husband. No one would correct Patty for thinking that Diane Jenkins ruined her life.
So, naturally, Patty taking over Diane’s life is the ideal revenge. Patty can make Jack hate Diane so much that he even disinherits their son (especially if “Diane” can bring Kyle over to her side). Talk about kicking a woman…when she’s dead. And breaking Jack’s heart along the way — again.
