Chance’s (Conner Floyd) life is also in a free fall, ever since he walked in on his wife Abby (Melissa Ordway) having sex with her “best friend,” Devon (Bryton James). He’s at loose ends…she’s at loose ends. How long before they turn into two parallel lines…that meet?

We don’t blame Summer (Allison Lanier) for grieving her mother and for wanting to salt the earth until her killer is hung by the neck until dead. As a result, she is destroying her relationship with Diane (Susan Walters), with Jack (Peter Bergman), and, worst of all, with Kyle (Michael Mealor). This could destroy her marriage. And drive her straight into Chance’s arms as a sympathetic shoulder to cry on. At first…hmm.

And it will all be a direct result of Phyllis’s (Michelle Stafford) actions. When she returns and announces that she’s alive, ready for those hugs and kisses her children were so sad they’d never be able to give her at her memorial service, will Summer call Phyllis out on it? And will Phyllis accept any responsibility?

But, that huge elephant in the room aside, Summer and Chance, is an intriguing idea. Her relationship with Kyle never made much sense. He waffled between her and Lola (Sasha Calle) too many times, and Summer ran out on him too many more. Kyle is a little kid pretending to be a grown-up. Chance is a grown-up who could use feeling a bit more little kid joy. They could be quite good for each other. But it still won’t let Phyllis off the hook!
