Y&R spoilers are strongly suggesting there’s a murder mystery on the horizon. Those of us who’ve watched soaps for any length of time know what it means when more than one character says they’d like to see another character dead. Can you say wedding day homicide, boys and girls? We bet you can!
Y&R Spoilers Speculation
Now that Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has asked Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) to marry him, we are starting our countdown clock for when the groom finds his bride shot on their nuptial day. (Blood does look so cinematic on a white bridal gown.) The question is, who will have pumped lead into Diane? We’ve got our suspicions:
Obvious Young and the Restless Suspect
Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) wants Diane dead. She has clearly lost her mind, and crazy people do crazy things. Which is why we expect her to be the first one under suspicion, the first one arrested, and the first one put on trial. Which obviously means she will never be the guilty party!
Y&R Spoilers: Second Generation
Another possibility is Summer (Allison Lanier). She isn’t happy about her mom’s Diane obsession. So maybe she tries to put an end to it. Except things go terribly wrong. We can also see Summer being arrested and initially taking the blame. In order to protect her mom…or maybe her husband?

Kyle (Michael Mealor) also isn’t happy about his mother reuniting with his father. He wouldn’t try to harm Diane deliberately. But accidents do happen.
Y&R: Dark Horse
Jeremy (James Hyde) has threatened to kill Diane. He’s recruited Phyllis to help him kill Diane. He is a criminal who has killed people before. He blames Diane for his spending six years in prison and, oh, yeah, his portrayer is not a member of a core family. This makes him the most likely suspect. Which means he won’t be the most likely suspect. He will have an airtight alibi. And then we’re all supposed to be shocked when he turns out to be the shooter all along.
