Y&R spoilers point to Chance accepting Paul’s suggestion that Chance be the new Chief of Police in Genoa City. It’s not like he has anything better to do. His relationship with Sharon doesn’t seem to be too time-intensive. And we no longer see him trying to annoy Abby and Devon by taking Dominic for court-mandated visits. So why not take the new job? The question is, will he like it?
Y&R Spoilers Speculation: Peter Principle
Chance (Conner Floyd) has always seen himself as a man of action. He likes to be out in the field, not back at headquarters pushing papers around. Now, we can suspect that his months of being presumed dead after watching dozens of his men die might have taken some of the air out of Chance’s swashbuckling sails. Not to mention losing Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) as a partner. We can see why he might think he wants to take it easier now.
Young & Restless: Bad Fit
But that doesn’t mean being the boss is the way to go. Chance hasn’t shown himself to be particularly good with managing people, not to mention budgets and duty rosters and glad-handing politicians. And that’s the bulk of what the Police Chief’s job is. That’s why we haven’t seen Paul (Doug Davidson) in ages. He’s been busy doing all those boring things. Chance just doesn’t seem built for it.
Y&R Spoilers: Top Dog
While Chance may have worries about the offer and thoughts of doing something else with his life, in the end, we see Chance accepting the job. He is a do-gooder from head to toe, and we don’t think he would be happy to let just anyone take that seat. Paul has big shoes to fill, and we suspect Chance will do his best to make his mentor proud.
