The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal a rude awakening for Phyllis as she learns what life in the Abbott mansion is really like now that she’s moved back in.
The Abbott home isn’t the same home it was when Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) was married to Jack (Peter Bergman).
First, Jack’s no longer an Abbott, according to Dina (Marla Adams) and some DNA tests at least. Second, Kyle (Michael Mealor) now lives there. And finally, there’s Dina.
Not only is Dina not thrilled with Phyllis moving back in after hurting her precious son, but she’s also set in her ways, so Phyllis and Billy now living there cramps her style.
Part of her style is to enjoy her afternoon matinees watching old movies on the living room TV.
Today’s choice is Marlon Brando in On The Waterfront and Dina is furious when Phyllis and Summer’s (Hunter King) showdown gets in the way of her enjoying the show.
(Not that there isn’t another show Kyle enjoyed watching as mother and daughter have it out.)
Dina finally begs Kyle to make them stop as she becomes more and more agitated and Kyle breaks up the fight. Summer storms out, Phyllis is infuriated, and Kyle decides he also has to leave, making Phyllis promise to watch Dina until the nurse arrives.
Sure, how hard can it be, Phyllis thinks. She’s just an old lady and doesn’t really go anywhere. Or, so she believes.
Phyllis suggests rather than watching another movie, they sit outside for fresh air and sends Dina ahead of her (purse and all) so she can take a quick call from Lauren about business.
When she later goes outside to join Dina, the older woman is nowhere to be found. A frantic Phyllis searches the entire house and grounds, but thankfully all’s well that ends well.
Kyle finds his grandmother in her favorite garden spot thanks to the handy tracker they leave in the purse she carries everywhere. While Phyllis is certainly relieved, she also realizes her new life is nothing she expected it to be.
