The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal a day of joy and sorry in Genoa City. There is joy as Neil’s friends and family look back on his life and sorrow with the idea that they’d never see him again.
Lily (Christel Khalil) is especially effected by her father’s death. He had been there for her since birth and it wasn’t until later in life that Neil (Kristoff St. John) learned he wasn’t her biological father. Still, he was her father in every important way and she’s now lost.
She talks with Malcolm (Shemar Moore) and Devon (Bryton James) about how happy she was to come home and how happy he was for her. The Society opening night was going to be a celebration for them of good things to come.
Still, Lily remains firm on how she wants her life to go, with or without her father by her side.
While Cane (Daniel Goddard) promises to always be there for her and she leans on him for support throughout the memorial, even Cane knows what’s about to come.
When Jill (Jess Walton) questions Cane on how things are with Lily, wondering if Neil’s death and Cane’s pleas have done anything to change her mind, Cane just shakes his head in sadness.
However, he gets a glimmer of hope when Lily decides to go home with him and the twins.
Maybe Lily will realize how important it is to be with family and stay, but those hopes are quickly dashed.

Too much has happened, including Neil’s death. Lily know she has to start her life anew and once again explains to Cane why. He knows why and could feel this coming, but it still breaks his heart.
Lily’s heart seems to be breaking, as well. She says she can’t stay in their house another night. She’s raised her children who will be going off to college.
Cane has a son with another woman to take care of and everything has to move on in Genoa City without her.
She walks out of the home she knew for so many years, as well as the life she thought she’d always have as another Winters leaves Genoa City behind.
