 Comments

The Young and the Restless spoilers breakdown for Monday, September 3 highlight a stand alone episode that’s all about Lily’s sentencing hearing. Lily’s facing an uncertain future and her fate rests in a judge’s hands.

Preparing For the Worst
Lily (Christel Khalil) starts her day in Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) arms and prays this won’t be the last morning she gets to wake up in their bed. She’s worried sick about what comes next and dreads having to walk into the courtroom.

In the kitchen, the twins plan a special breakfast for their mom to show their love. There’s not much Mattie and Charlie can do but put on brave faces, feed baby Sam, mix up some waffles, and hope their mother gets to come home at the end of the day.

Over at Devon’s place, things aren’t much better. Shauna (Camryn Hamm) awakes to an empty house and a note saying Devon’s out for a walk. He needs to clear his head, as does she. The lead up to this day has taken its toll on both of them and it’s about to get worse before it gets better.

Another Disaster!
Nate’s on deck to lend an ear but he also comes bearing bad news. Disaster has stuck the Winters clan once again, this time with Sophia being rushed to the hospital.

Neil’s ex is in grave danger and is fighting for her life over complications from her own car accident last year. Neil flew out to be with his youngest child and won’t be there for his oldest two.

With or without Neil, the trial must go on, so all parties will solemnly head to the courthouse.

Cue The Lawyers
Before the trial begins, the lawyers meet up with Michael (Christian LeBlanc) begging Christine (Lauralee Bell) for mercy. His client isn’t a cold blooded killer.

This was an accident and one he knows Lily regrets. However, Christine won’t be forgiving. She’s out for blood and is determined to get it.

Asking For Forgiveness

The hearing starts with Christine showing her worth as a D.A and Michael pleading for leniency. Then, the victim impact statements begin with Cane standing up first. He begs for his wife’s freedom and admit his faults in this case.

Next, Shauna speaks. She already lost her mentor and asks the judge to not force her friends to lose another part of their family. This is a tragedy and Lily being behind bars won’t right the wrong.

Devon Has His Say!
Everything looks like it’s going in Lily’s direction, until Devon speaks up. He has no intention on taking it easy on his sister and demand the maximum punishment for her crimes.

Her neglect behind the wheel cost two lives. In fact, he even implies it wasn’t really an accident after all. His sister always hated Hilary and finally found a way to get rid of her once and for all.

Lily Says Her Peace!
When Lily stands up, she’s almost be at a loss for words. She admits her fault and asks for forgiveness and promises the courts she regrets her actions. If she gets leniency, she vows to use it to change her ways and live a better life and repair her family.

While the judge deliberates, Cane asks once more for Devon’s support, and even throws letting Neil off in his face. (Remember that time Neil kidnapped Hilary? Well, Cane does…)

If Devon can forgive Neil for hurting Hil on purpose, why can’t he give Lily a break?

The Verdict Is In!
Then, the judge is returns, but it looks like Devon may ask to speak again…
